Founded in 2014, New York Music Daily once described Klazz-Ma-Tazz as "Epically Haunting Lynchian Klezmer Jazz." Klazz-Ma-Tazz explores a mix of new original music and uniquely reimagined modern jazz interpretations and arrangements of traditional secular Jewish, Eastern European and middle eastern music, catered to the nostalgically progressive audience of the 21st century. The music is progressive but always with the underlying sense of yearning, sorrow and joy which makes this music so rich with emotion. Simply put, Klazz-Ma-Tazz resonates with a sense of nostalgic novelty, serving as a musical meditation, exploring the magic of the past while languishing the beautiful mystery of the unknown. The band has released two albums on OneTrickDog Records, both of which have been heard on radio stations across the US and around the world. Their most recent album, Meshugenah (2018) was released at City Winery’s Klezmer Brunch series which has been a frequent venue for the band over the years, along with other legendary world music venues such as Golden Fest, Cornelia St. Cafe, DROM and World Cafe Live (in Philadelphia, PA).
